AutoQuotes will no longer provide customer support or technical fixes for AQ applications running on Windows XP or Windows Vista operating systems, effective Friday, Dec. 8, 2017. As an AQ subscriber, you can continue using these systems if you would like, but AutoQuotes Customer Support will no longer respond to issues or technical difficulties related to Windows XP or Windows Vista as of that date.
Microsoft ended its mainstream Windows XP support in 2009, with extended support ending in 2014. Vista support ended in 2012, with extended support ending earlier this year. According to Microsoft:
- PCs running Windows XP after April 8, 2014, are not considered secure.
- Vista operating systems running after April 11, 2017, are vulnerable to viruses and hackers even if you have a good anti-virus software utility installed.
The AQ application, its features and products are not running as smoothly or efficiently on XP and Vista as on current, supported operating systems. This has led to AQ user technical difficulties and overall poorer customer experiences that are outside of our control. Unfortunately, this means that while our Customer Support department spends time responding to XP and Vista issues, they aren’t always able to provide the assistance needed to resolve the problem.
As AutoQuotes releases new products and features, this situation will only get worse. It is in the best interest of all our subscribers that we dedicate our resources to the AQ application on updated, supported operating systems to deliver the best customer service possible.
