How to change Ownership on a Project?
Building on the information given in last week’s tech-tip, there are times when an admin user will need to move all the projects from one user’s account to another instead of simply sharing them. This can occur when a user leaves a company and another user is taking over the previous user’s work. Project ownership offers the solution when this is required. This differs from project sharing in that the actual projects are â€˜moved’ from one user’s account to another’s instead of â€˜shared’ across accounts. This causes the projects to appear under the new owners â€˜My Projects’ filter, and gives the new owner complete control of the project as if they had created it themselves. To change the owner of a project simply follow the steps outlined below. Please note, only admin level users can change project ownership.
1. Locate and select the project(s) in which you wish to change the ownership.
2. Right-click on the selected project(s) and choose ‘Change Project Owner’ from the pop-up menu.
3. Select the new owner.
4. Click the ‘OK’ button to apply the changes.
That’s it! The selected project(s) are now owned and have been moved to the selected user’s account.
