Frequently Asked Questions

Is AQ SKU an inventory tracking / management system?

No. AQ SKU is an application that integrates the AQ Catalog with your company’s existing ERP or inventory management system, such as SAGE or QuickBooks.

What pricing control do I have over uploaded items?

You set your own prices and can customize pricing levels for your items. When an item is quoted, the appropriate pricing level will automatically be applied.

How does AQ SKU work?

Information is exported directly from your inventory information system as a CSV (comma separated value) spreadsheet file. The CSV file is transferred into the AQ SKU application. All product information included in the CSV file, such as customized pricing, inventory levels and warehouse locations, will appear in the Details panel of the catalog listing for your individual products in AQ.

How do I get a CSV file?

Your inventory management system provider should have instructions for exporting a CSV data file. As every system is slightly different, we cannot include this information here. However, our customer support team can assist you during AQ SKU set-up.

How do I update the information in AQ SKU?

A CSV file can be imported into AQ SKU by opening the file in AQ SKU and pressing the upload button. This information can also be uploaded through an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) client, such as FileZilla, which can be further automated by your company’s IT team.

Is the integration of AQ SKU with my inventory management system bi-directional?

No. AQ SKU does not change the inventory information in AQ or your inventory management system if a piece of equipment is quoted or sold. Information only flows one way, from your inventory management system to the AQ Catalog.

How do I set up AQ SKU?

Set-up involves your administrator accessing the AQ SKU browser-based mapping tool, to define how your inventory information is laid out in your files. Once set-up is complete, your administrator can upload inventory easily from their ERP or inventory management systems at any time, with just a push of a button.

Can I specify inventory levels for multiple warehouse locations in AQ SKU?

Yes. During the initial set-up you can specify how AQ SKU interprets your inventory information. Once this set-up is complete, AQ SKU will know what each field in your CSV file contains and how to present it within the AQ Catalog. Your set-up remains consistent for each subsequent upload, unless changed by you.

How do I know my inventory is up to date?

Your administrator can adjust your inventory information any time by simply uploading a new CSV file. After upload, AQ SKU updates the AQ Catalog in minutes – keeping your stock data accurate so you can always quote with confidence. Your company’s IT team can automate the upload step by requesting an information file directly from your inventory management system through your FTP client, as frequently as you like, throughout the day.
